Linocut

A holloway (or tree tunnel) is a lane or track where the trees on each side form a more or less continuous canopy overhead, giving the effect of a tunnel. Ancient holloways have formed over many years as the passage of people erode the path, emphasising the tunnel effect. I drew this holloway in the South Downs National Park. It’s called Mill Lane in Halnaker.

These prints are original linocuts. I cut directly into the lino using traditional hand tools. Then I ink up the block and print the edition one at a time. Each print is an original artist print.

No. of prints in edition: 10

This print is made using Cranfield’s Caligo Safewash Relief Ink. The paper is Awagami, Mulberry Roll Thick and is archival and acid free.

Each print is signed, dated and editioned in pencil below the image.
